Things are very exciting here on the west coast of British Columbia. You don’t have to be at the Olympic events to feel the energy and camaraderie. This weekend I went downtown just to feel part of it all. I had a good look at the Olympic flame which was inspirational. The whole of downtown is decorated for the Olympics and everyone is wearing a big smile. I love hearing all the different languages being spoken and everyone wearing their county’s logos. It was fun to watch the zip liners. People will wait in line for up to 5 hours to fly through the air above the crowd.
We have been so lucky to have such fine weather to show off our beautiful city. The cherry blossoms are in bloom as well as the daffodils. Our Art Gallery is decorated to look like a Monet garden. The First Nations pavilion has some excellent artwork, dance displays and always a warm friendly welcome.
I also visited the City of Richmond and waited in line for one hour and fifteen minutes to get into the Dutch Heineken House. But it was worth it as I enjoyed mingling with the Dutch people and having a fantastic cup of Dutch hot chocolate. (I actually don’t drink beer!) I walked down BC Street, sampled some ice wine and viewed the amazing ice painting. I also watched the ice carving competition. Those guys are incredible.
There has been so much to see and do, and much of it is free. I am happy to be able to see first hand how an event like this can bring the world together.

I am excited about almost anything about the Olympic games.
I wish I were in Vancouver right now.
I would say the Olympic games is once in a lifetime event, but I cannot. Now I now many people who lived in Calgary in 1988, participated in the 15th Olympic games fever and went to Vancouver to watch the Olympics there.
I cannot even imagine how great is to take part in such amazing party.
I would be grateful to you if you uploaded some more pictures of the city and the people who came there to support their countries and their teams.

I can only imagine what air is now in the Olympic games, which is filled by Live Energy, Pleasure an Experiences simultaneously!!!!

I understand that my post is quite out of the tune with the Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Nevertheless I hope that many Americans which came to Canada now have got a chance to know more about their northern neighbour.
I recently watched a movie and now I can not help from sharing my impressions about it.
